The New Age of Advertising—Why We Never Stop Learning
To paraphrase an article in Adweek, the advertising industry is changing at the speed of light, and successful agencies are the ones who can adapt. Today, we want our employees to not only be creative but also data-informed, technology-proficient, and analytics-driven team players with multi-faceted skill sets. That’s why at IMA, we reinforce our employees’ talents by providing and supporting continuing education opportunities.
Our longtime and millennial employees are encouraged to join webinars, attain certifications, attend seminars, research online, and take classes—some of which can be undertaken during the workday. For example, our content marketing team has access to online Marketing Writing Bootcamp classes, viewable from their computers or mobile devices. The emerging technology team members are all working toward Google Analytics certification. And last month, the graphic design team attended WordCamp Milwaukee, an annual WordPress conference.
According to Sara Gooding, IMA graphic designer, that paid off in many ways: “I learned from others in the field about different approaches to website design. Attending helped sharpen my communication skills and taught me how to talk more effectively about design with clients.”
Are we sitting behind our computers all day? No way. You’ll find IMA employees collaborating, teaching each other, and learning something new every day in order to deliver amazing results for our clients—and our agency, of course!
